Free bird, I can swerve and I can swoop
I lay eggs every single time I think of you
Only free birds flying high
Could decide to ride to Venus
Break the physical laws of time
[Interlude]
So it was a gorgeous boat, and we're happy with that
And then the nеxt thing you know, we were likе out in the middle of the ocean
This guy, this captain guy, was right out on the ocean rowing away, like rowing away from the boat
I was like "Where is that captain going?"
And he just kept rowing and rowing
And I was like "This is not happening to me right now!"
I'm gonna row, row, row, row…
When he takes me in his arms
And whispers love to me
Everything's lovely
It's him for me and me for him
All our lives
And it's so real what I feel
This is why
A growing number of states, are passing laws to prevent students from learning about the struggles and triumphs of LGBTQ Americans. In May, Tennessee became the first state to pass what queer-rights advocates have branded as “Don’t Say Gay” laws, which either forbid the teaching of LGBTQ history in K-12 schools outright or allow parents to choose whether their children participate in lessons that include it. Overall this increasing pattern of laws is being led by Republican state legislatures-hard at work trying to erase our visibility, and spot at the table.
I have been thinking a great deal about community, lack of it and what it actually means in 2021. I miss my Gayborhood and friends and family. I miss Seattle and Capitol Hill. Its support.
Over the weekend, I reread Christopher Isherwood’s, “A single Man,” and played around with the opening paragraph and remnants of thought from the book.
Which has boiled down to staring at more screens but for a purpose that has provided contentment, in the quest of finding inspiration and connection. I miss it.

Since 1984, the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, headed by Jane Golden, has overseen the creation of 4,000 murals on the sides of buildings throughout the city's neighborhoods. The goal, is to bring a sense of pride and the hope of better times. The city draws on artists from public schools and neighborhood residents for design ideas and to encourage the community to grab a paint brush and get involved. Today, it's seen as an essential element in community-building.

Elektra, Blanca, Lulu and Angel go to the beach- POSE (s2e9) The opening of the episode is above and closing below this amazing video of Taste of Honey-performing their song “Boogie Ooogie Ooogie” ❤️⛱ which is also above. I oddly remember watching this Solid Gold performance on a Sunday morning eating cereal- made a mess trying to eat and dance. On a side note I want Elektra’s hat. T- Stance❤️🔥

User Experience designers have a responsibility of helping tech be accessible, equitable, and sustainable, but instead are continually used for unethical practices for profit. As UX designers, we are responsible for the impact our actions have on the world. We can no longer hide behind Product Owners’ decisions, marketing briefings, or technical specs to offset our obligations towards the user's well-being and the ethical implications of our actions.
